Topic: [Solved] Can't launch xfce4-power-manager

I have installed xfce4-power-manager when I was setting up my minimal Ubuntu install and I configured everything at that time. Since then (couple of weeks ago) I never launched it again. When I just closed my laptop and opened it again, I noticed it didn't went into hibernation - which I had setup in xfce4-power-manager.
To see why, I tried to launch xfce4-power-manager from my OB menu, but this didn't work. I then tried to run it from a terminal, but when I enter the command I only get this:

jente@lappy:~$ xfce4-power-manager
jente@lappy:~$

No xfce4-power-manager comes up.

I already tried removing it (by sudo apt-get remove --purge xfce4-power-manager) and installing it again, but still it doesn't work.
How can I fix this?

EDI: Can this be because I removed my battery and only running on AC power?

Does xfce4-power-manager-settings help?  I ask because you may have checked never show icon and the app would be installed but unseen.  Changing the preferences may solve this.  smile

My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can.
