Topic: Looking to Synch Bookmarks in Firefox/Iceweasel?

Hi all,

Would anyone know of a way to synch bookmarks from separate installs of Firefox and/or Iceweasel so that organization structure of the bookmarks are preserved, and the bookmarks from folders with the same name are merged together?

xmarks? its a firefox extension and there is a chrome/chromium version too. Haven't tried it between different kinds of browsers. Let us know what you find.

I swear by this little plugin on Chrome, Xmarks and DropBox are really good to have all your computers syncronized.

Hi,

There is also Firefox sync, developped by Mozilla: https://services.mozilla.com/ http://www.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/sync/
It maybe was formerly called weave, if I remember well it will be included in next versions of firefox by default.

I am using xmarks in ffox and chrome, quite satisfied by its efficiency, but not sure about what they do with my data... You can host your bookmarks in your own server for the firefox version only.
One very annoying thing is that they update their addon very often (almost every week), need to install and reboot ffox all the time.

cheers,

Not had to do that with Chrome yet, so far no problems. However, past experience with remote bookmarks has left me backing them up locally as well as a safeguard.
