Topic: System hanging, anyone else notice this on xfce?

Hi there,

I installed openbox statler version yesterday and liked it, but thought i would try out the xfce version too, so reinstalled using this disk. I have noticed though that when i open file manager, despite only 280 MB of my 3GB RAM being used it seems to hang an awful lot, on a 64 bit relatively new machine. Is this normal with it being an Alpha 2 (not used crunchbang before this).

Other than that, really like it, and love the right click. Really torn with XFCE or openbox. I dont like the xfce icons, too cartoony, but the menu system is easier, and openbox looks cleaner.

Great work by the way, im a convert.

When it hangs, open the terminal and run "top" it'll tell you what's using up resources.
If you suspect it is just the Thunar file manager then open Thunar from the terminal and copy n paste some files or open and close directories and see if any error messages show up.

It's really hard to offer any help without log files or specific actions that cause the hangs.
