Topic: dropbox doesn't startup? [segfault]

Hi statlers

Just wondering; I installed dropbox via CB-welcome. Choose the default 60s sleep. But it seams that sometimes (maybe always now?) dropbox doesn't start correctly.

i just restarted the machine to replicate, saw the dropbox icon show up in taskbar, then disapper. dmesg writes:

dropbox[2023]: segfault at 0 ip b65a1249 sp bfbeab74 error 4 in libpango-1.0.so.0.2800.1[b658f000+42000]

But I have no idea what that means :-)

I can start dropbox manually though.

Any ideas as to whats going on?

You could try the method described in the wiki under Dropbox. It certainly worked for me.

That's basically the same that CB-welcome does. It works again now. :-0

Could it be you need to add a little bit more sleep time, to allow your network to settle down before starting dropbox? If the problem comes back you could try 70 or 80s...

Hi Andreas, how did you start it up manually? Do you mean via the dropdown menu and then Start Dropbox?
For me that doesn't work!

I had Dropbox working before (everything looks as described in the wiki), but now it just doesn't.
Still on the web I see the particular computer is connected to my account.

Any ideas?
