Thanks Thomas Adam!
The more I use Fvwm the more I like it. I hope it "does rise again". Do you know of any distros that include it as the default WM? I think Austrumi uses it...
One more question, I accidentally installed the Crystal theme when I installed Fvwm on #!. It is really nice but I didn't really learn anything. I downloaded your instructions from Open-box.org but I don't really understand what to do with them. Are each one of the instructions made to copy paste into Fvwm and then modify per the comments like separate units? I'm new at this so I don't really know where to start. I really like your setup from the latest screenshot with the Gutterslob theme.
@elder
OpenBSD also includes it as the default WM
Tarten (Hoodoo) has very kindly posted a "starter" package for FVWM on Boxlook.org. Here is the link:

@Elder Awesome posting this man. Also, you can get the source code for the new re-write on Github. https://github.com/Hoodoo I've got some legacy configs based on the new version if any yall are playing around with the new stuff.(the re-write is based on FVWM 2.5.31, squeeze's repos have 2.3.30)
Ok, Here is my initial screenshot after install I wonder if/how it will change in time... ![]()
Thanks Rooster. I figured out why I initially had trouble, it was TOO easy. I didn't realize at first that after you download and extract Tarten's file you then do a 'select all' of all the files in the English (for me) folder and then paste them directly into the ~/.fvwm folder. Now I have a working base to start off with. LOL, this is fun! Do you know if I can get the same psuedo transparency in Fvwm that I have in Fluxbox? Well that's a way off yet, I'm still working on the menus.
Definitely man. Give us a heads up when you start foolin' round with it.
Here is a little tutorial I should link to:

@Elder
You can define, whether a certain program is styled or not within /.fvwm/per-application_rules. Tint2 would fall in this category. Here's a snippet you can run in your terminal that should fix it.
echo 'Style "tint2" !Title, !Handles, !Borders, !Icon, WindowListSkip' >> ~/.fvwm/per-application_rulesCheck this out too, for some insight.

BTW, we might wanna work through stuff on this other thread to stay on topic:

Thanks that did the trick. Moving to the other thread now.
Do not use that thread, it's rather stupid. (
Better use the comments to config on github.
