Topic: iPod Touch 3G sync with Linux.
Maybe this is old news already, but I have found a way on how to sync my iPod touch 3G with Linux.
All over the internet there's guides and how-to's stating this and that, but none of 'em actually shows that it really works. I tried one of them and it to my surprise I can now sync my iPod Touch 3G - with GTKpod, that is. I'd like to find a way to use Exaile or even Rhythmbox, but I'm happy enough GTKpod works ![]()
All credits go to the names stated in the topic:

One note though: with step 5, the command should be this:
$ ipod-read-sysinfo-extended <40 characters long UUID found with $ lsusb -v | grep -i iSerial> /mnt/ipod_mount_point (<- replace that with your mountpoint)EDIT: Another note:
The required packages stated in the topic are old and can't be found. Install these instead:
sudo apt-get install gvfs gvfs-backends gvfs-bin gvfs-fuse libgvfscommon0 ifuse libgpod4 libimobiledevice-utils libimobiledevice0 python-imobiledevice libplist++1 libplist-utils python-plist libusb-1.0-0 libusbmuxd1 usbmuxdLast edited by Unia (2010-09-25 12:48:40)
