Topic: We are more than 1%

Hello, fellow crunchbangers! (well technically I'm not a crunchbanger anymore, but who cares? big_smile )

Don't know if this was already posted here, if so please forgive me.

This site tries to prove that linux users represent more than 1% on the desktop, by inviting every linux user to subscribe. If it works, perhaps software writers will be more interested in Linux and begin to port interesting software!

So participe, it only takes 30 seconds!

Registered, its an awesome idea~!

I once installed gentoo. It asked me for a sacrifice and would not install itself unless I gave him my neighbor's first born and my best bottle of Whiskey.  -Awebb 2011

Whenever someone calls me a computer 'nerd' or a 'Unix-based-system'
all I can think is: You just wait. In a couple of years. I'll be your IT. Then where will you be!

Am I just paranoid? Just don't feel like sending my email address to anyone who asks for it...

Anyway, it's easy enough to make any number of disposable adresses so it doesn't achieve anything in proving that you're a unique individual.

Re: We are more than 1%

It should not be so important to us, how many people more use linux or not. The success is not to grown mass of users. It´s just an operating system. A success is, if people get encouraged to take the power back and to do more than consuming only.

I wanted to, but the site doesn't even get the countries listed right. It's listing countries that disappeared off the face of the planet 20 years ago, but doesn't list mine. And ergo it doesn't seem like a very serious project to be honest.

So I can't participate.

Re: We are more than 1%

26 of us now ...

I willfully participate in a campaign of misinformation!
