Topic: quodlibet

One of the bummers for me going to statler is quodlibet locking up when a internet radio is in the playlist{this is not a problem in 9.04} . googling this problem gave me this

My hobby geek status leaves me with uneven skills with linux and I'm not sure how to apply this patch or if it's worth trying. anyone have thoughts on this?

Re: quodlibet

You could try using either an older or newer version, they are in deb packages so they will be easy to install:

Re: quodlibet

Um...bear in mind that Launchpad is tied to Ubuntu/Canonical, so...

while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );

Most Ubuntu packaging will work on Debian systems. Sometimes the Debian repos will not have a good amount of options with the stable version being too old. Is there any reason not to use Launchpad sources with Debian?

Re: quodlibet

Sometimes the dependencies are different and not handled well when mixing Debian and Ubuntu.  For example, it's not uncommon for library files to be out of sync.  Also, there are some differences in where Debian and Ubuntu put their preferences files, which can also cause breakage.

while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );

Re: quodlibet

Thanx for response. Would it be safe to assume that this problem sense it's know,  that at some point it will be be fixed with updates/upgrades?

Re: quodlibet

@dove - The bug report is for version 2.2. Does it still happen with 2.2.1 (current version in Squeeze and Sid)?

Yes, I like to make playlist's ending with a internet radio station. When the playlist get's to the internet station quodlibet locks up {both OB 32b&64b OB and xfce 64b} To get quodlibet to work again you have to log out/in.

Re: quodlibet

Well since 2.2.1 is the latest upstream version anyways, I suggest you file a bug report:

Re: quodlibet

I just "crunchbanged" xubuntu 10.4 and quodlibet works great on it?

Re: quodlibet

10.4 is Lucid, correct? It has an older version of QuodLibet: 2.1.
