Re: New site design

just back from the dam, after several tech fails (hard and soft) half mucked-up my time there.  just freshly installed waldorf, ~since sid refusing any user inputs once X starts, was one of the software fails~, and now i see a fresh new site design too.

well implemented.  very well indeed.  i'm in awe.

thnx corenominal.

(wasnt too sure about some of the "more conventional" design choices for waldorf tho, but i suppose it all ties in together nicely enough)

I like how the computer on the home page turns into a laptop when you resize the window. Cool trick smile

Re: New site design

Very nice design.
Only gripe I have is that I miss the option of switching the color scheme to something lighter as before.
I have read that it might be implemented again in the future....I'd like that!  smile

Re: New site design

@dura & mrpeachy:  That's how most forums work, including the former PunBB version of this one.  When you copy the text, you get the text equivalent of the smiley (e.g. "wink", "monkey", "devil"), not the code that gets interpreted as that smiley.  I think this is actually a feature to make the forum more accessible for people who use screen readers?

Re: New site design

Just wanted to say that I think the new site is amazing! Everything is very well put together and well thought out.

It's very modern and minimal at the same time, so it suits #! perfectly.

Congratulations to Corenominal and whoever else was involved!

Re: New site design

I'm pretty sure this is new: A link to the wiki entry forum topic on preparing a crunchbang installation USB is presented when one goes to download an iso.
FWIW, I couldn't install from USB except by following the wiki instructions. Good stuff.

Yes, that would be nice.
I would like to see a lighter color scheme as before, if it is at all possible.

Re: New site design

The New Post markers clear themselves after a time, like opening a new tab to an external link, and after reading for a long while I return to the forums and going back to the Index page, all the New Posts highlights are gone. Must be something to do with the login expiring, I have "remember me" checked so it refreshes my login session, and clears all my new posts.

"Search" is harder to find. I used to be able to say "use the Search box in the top right corner."

Now it is Use the Magnifying Glass in the top right corner, and it is still a difficult sell IMO
