Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

How do i get lua_load to work, i just copy and paste from here, is there something else that i'm suppose to do,  i have lua mod installed?
The hardware temps don't work for me either, i have lm_sensors installed?
I needed hddtemp installed i now get /dev/sda perm denied

Thanks in advance

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

In Arch, conky (official repositories) is not compiled with lua support, a wise choice in my opinion.
If you want lua, uninstall conky and install this.

As for lm_sensors: have you run

#sensors-detect

yet? Also, if you use systemd (you should, it's awesome), have you enabled the sensors service?

sudo systemctl enable lm_sensors.service

If you've done all this, can you post us the output of

sensors

?

You don't like LUA in conky.  Out of curiosity may I ask why?

It's not that I don't like it, I just think it's bloat.
If I wanted to use lua to further customize conky, I'd just use the aur package, but the official repositories' vanilla conky should be lua free IMO.

That makes perfect sense.

Debian come with three flavours of conky:

the lightweight conky-cli, comes with almost nothing:

Yea, but I don't hate ... I joke about things.  I advocate that Linux is about choices, there are options for everything it seems.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Hey Teo, great great work you've done on your weather scripts.  Wish I'd tried them sooner.  (Another thank-you to S11 for pointing them out)  I'll post a scrot of my current Conky that uses your Accuweather_Conky_USA_Images.  A question for you.  The Conky works perfectly except for the current conditions (Right Now) image.  I have to kill then restart the Conky to get it to update the image.  What am I doing wrong?  I'm sure its something I've done...  Thanks

Thanks
Jed

Thanks for your kind words Jed. Are you by any chance using Conky 1.8.1.6? If so, see here.
If not, just ignore it; it will straighten up after the first conky interval.
