Two headphone connectors, only one mutes the speakers

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I installed the latest Waldorf image and it works perfectly except for one thing. My laptop has two headphone jacks but only one mutes the sound coming from the speakers and sends sound to the headphones, while the second one does nothing (the speakers are not muted and no sound is sent to the headphones).
I tried all the options in the pulseaudio volume controls and they did not help. Alsamixer does not give me many options either, so I now turn to you. Thanks in advance for your help.

My card:

cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Intel]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xfe9fc000 irq 46

Re: Two headphone connectors, only one mutes the speakers

Normally, a laptop has two 3.5mm jacks, one is for headphones, the other is for a microphone.
(There could be an hdmi socket also.)

I know, but mine has three jacks. From left to right they are [headphones] [headphones] [microphone]. They worked correctly with Statler.

A workaround until you get a fix is to use a 1->2 3.5 mm adapter.  Not ideal, but it'll work.
