New from germany "Hello #! community"

gits here.

I've been using crunchbang since October last year. I started with stable and now I'm using testing. It was also my beginning with Linux and I've tested some other distros in the meantime. But #! is exactly what I want, out of the box, with Debian as it's base.

I started up with computers in the 80's. Happy days (years) with C64..... Amiga...DOS.....OS/2... and then (the sad years) ..windos!!

But now the happy days are back. Thanks to Linux -> Debian -> CrunchBang. Thanks!!
And yes: "Hello Community"

Re: New from germany "Hello #! community"

Welcome, gits.

Debian is great but I'm not sure why they needed to bind all those games to Gnome Shell via the Gnome meta-package so that you cannot get rid of Swell Foop or Gnabbles without bringing down the whole DE.

Anyway, like I said : Welcome.

One of the oddest criticisms I hear of systemd is "vendor lock-in". Given the licensing of systemd and its presence in all major distributions, no user is obligated to a commercial relationship with Red Hat via systemd.

Re: New from germany "Hello #! community"

Hi intoCB,

thank you for your welcome. I think so, nobody needs it. For me OpenBox is most suitable. I've four pc's running in my little
network. Two Desktops and two ThinkPads, eachone with a CrunchBang setup. That's best for me.

Best greetings,
gits

Re: New from germany "Hello #! community"

Hi Naik,

thank you, please let us speak german for a moment.

Best wishes from me.
