Re: April 2013 Screenshot Thread

^ Wow, thanks for the link wuxmedia, some great icons there!

...and yes I know you can change the icons, with my bad phrasing I actually meant that everytime I see a smartphone in a store or in a commercial I think to myself "man this is ugly, is that really what people want?".

Thanks, I'm using AWN.  Easier to use customised icons with AWN.

My choice here is the tint menu to the left, a la unity. And a conky showing processor, memory and traffic, and the hungriest process in each case. The border is Carbon.

Re: April 2013 Screenshot Thread

^With a bodged exec running in conky. I've put up the method on the herbstluftwm thread, though I can only get it to work on my Arch netbook (perhaps because of dzconky or something...). Over on the herbstluftwm thread The Compiler has suggested using panel.sh, which obviously is better, but I can't get my head around it currently and can't make the time to obsess over it.

Re: April 2013 Screenshot Thread

This month I switched to Openbox, aiming for a minimalistic desktop. I'm not on crunchbang (have been on ubuntu for years), but I have warm sympathies for the crunchbang minimalist and lightweight philosophy..

The tint2 panel auto-hides, an empty desktop for me means just a wallpaper, nothing else...

WM: openbox
Theme: Siva Flat Rounded Darkest (with some custom adaptations)
Icons: AwOken

Editor: scribes + gedit
Filemanager: pcmanfm
Dock/panel: tint2
Launcher: synapse
Terminal: guake  + terminator
Shell: zsh
Cat: Sam wink

ss201304_0s.png emptyss201304_2s.png panel only | ss201304_1s.png some windows | ss201304_4s.png guake | ss201304_6s.png coding | ss201304_3s.png synapse | ss201304_5s.png terminator with ncmpcpp and more
