@Linuxephus™:  That predates the FiM series, and as far as I know, has nothing to do with the franchise.

@tamikan:  Oh great - Epic Cupcake Time. neutral

Re: Ideas for Janice

just my two cents, install "Synapse" (application launcher & find utility).
Why? cause it starts on login, low memory consumption and would help new user who want to application in menus for easier launch but don't do cause it takes time if there are many applications.
I for one install it immediate after i install Crunchbang and i have never heard any complains from my clients.

+1 this semantic file launcher is like the upgrade of dmenu plus you can easily search on google with it

Why Synapse? Are there any benefits over Kupfer?
Kupfer has a lot of plugins, in addition to running apps, opening files and searching in google, it can open libreoffice recent documents, change songs in various audio players, it has a calculator, it can create keyboard shortcuts for any action that you can run in kupfer and so on... Memory usage wont be big if we strip down the number of plugins enabled by default.

Nice to hear from you here, too. While I mostly lurk behind the scenes here and read the wealth of information on the threads, I can say with certainty that this is the best village out there smile

Re: Ideas for Janice

I have been using a live install regularly to back up partitions with fsarchiver, which needs to be added with apt-get. It would be handy if it was included by default - atm I can't archive my laptop if the wifi connection is cr*p

fbxkb has problem with layout per application... gxkb is based on sources xfce4-xkb-plugin and works correct

Re: Ideas for Janice

Preload package installed by default?

Dried frog pills
As their name suggests, these are pills made chiefly from frogs, specifically the extremely poisonous ones that live in the vivarium at Unseen University and handled by the first-year students, so that if they kill one of them, not too much education has been wasted.

I use them daily! tongue

Re: Ideas for Janice

i would humbly ask that GIMP be left In the Live image, though if it were an 'cb-welcome' script option in the install portion instead of an automaticly installed package I wouldn't mind that. I use GIMP occasionaly when i pop in the live disk.
GIMP-GAP should be an option with it on the welcome scrip too, imho.
both are increadibly usefull programs.

spellschecker seams to be on the fritz, my oppologies.
