Express your gratitude

Maybe ChrunchBang is not everyone's cup of tea. What distro is?

However, like many of you I fell in love with #! when I first encountered it, in a way that simply hasn't happened with other distributions.

Why is this? I'm not sure but it may have something to do with the fact that it appears to be a labour of love for the evil genius behind it. He seems to enjoy doing it, to the point that at one time it was a full-time activity for him.

In any case, I feel something very special is provided for us here and so I'd just like to say thank you to Corenominal and Bobobex for something that has brought me a lot of pleasure. Anyone who would like to join me in this and express his/her gratitude is more than welcome.

Thank you.

Another version of Windows is released. Could this be the year of the Windows desktop? No.

Re: Express your gratitude

There is something incomprehensible at work here that makes me coming back to crunchbang each and every time... I have no idea  what, but I came from Win 7 > Hackintosh > Crunchbang > Win 7 > Crunchbang > Fedora > Crunchbang > Ubuntu > Crunchbang > Hackintosh > Crunchbang > Win 7 > Crunchbang... So that's my setup in the last two years... Guess I'm a crunchbang fanboy or something - also - whenever I'm at work, working on Win 7, I keep rightclicking hoping the menu will popup... big_smile

Thank you!

Re: Express your gratitude

In my case, #! was the perfect excuse to leave Windows behind, and start using Linux. It had a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that made it very appealing, and after testing it in live mode, I just decided that it had to become my main OS.
I would really like to thank its creator, for the wonderful job he's done! It works so smoothly, and it's so clean and uncluttered that using it is a very pleasing and relaxing experience.

the best definition for Crunchbang! cool

The concept behind #! (minimalism, Openbox, etc..) is exactly what I need from an OS. Lately I got tired of the software in Debian - too Stable - and moved to Arch, replicating #!. Still, I keep a #! install as a safe /home, just in case something brakes horribly while surfing the bleeding edge...

#! showed me how my OS should be and these forums thought me a lot about Linux, thanks Corenominal and Boobex for realising this!

Re: Express your gratitude

#! is your typical gateway into hardcore minimalism, a gateway drug so to speak, but attracting cool people only. I've really learned a lot by following The Way. Not that I use any of it anymore (well, I can fix any computer problem I find, so there's that), but you still see me hanging around the forum and middling into people's affairs. .

Re: Express your gratitude

It's still my perfect setup (with just a bit of tweaking).

Thank you Philip!  anmflower.gif

Re: Express your gratitude

I haven't booted my other partition since I installed #!, I was just going to give it a test run. TBH I didn't get the hype... it was just Debian with openbox... big whoop. But then I couldn't stop using it.

It's computer crack.

I am up to neither good nor bad, but what serves me.
