[SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Hello guys, I really need your help, I know that there is already a lot of post about the crunchbang live cd password and username.
But i have tried everything !! everything
root/toor, crunchbang/live,Crunchbang/live,crunchbang/,Crunchbang/,guest/guest,guest/live,....
Every username and password combinaison which are said on the post.
I have downloaded crunchbang-11-20130506-amd64 and put it on my usb key with Mac Linux USB Loader.
And I don't know how to go to the console screen, crunch bang starts automatically, I have only few boot options about the kernel.
Could this be because of the bad configuration of my keyboard ?
I really don't know what to do..
Thanks for helping me smile

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

CB boots without the use of a username and/or password.
Well, it does here...

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Assumed:
You are booting from the live USB, and you have not installed anything.
There should be no username and password for the live USB session or to get the installation going...

Questions:
So, first, are you using a MAC or PC to boot the live USB?
Second, is the prompt for a username/password a text based screen or a graphical display?
Third, if you want to get a console screen after the #! live USB session boots - you can right click on the desktop area and select "Terminal".
Also, if you want a 'root' terminal session, just type

sudo -s

in a regular terminal session as described above... and, again, there should be no username/password combination for any of this within the live USB session.

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Thanks for your answer.
I am using a mac and yes i haven't installed anything but i have still a graphical login screen, with the crunchbang logo.
I can't choose to run the installation or the live session i don't know why, it starts automaticly the live session expect I have few boot options like
-nomodeset
-acpi
-noefi
-persistent
-toram
-gpt

And i can't right click on the desktop area because i can't log in hmm

Maybe so, but a slim-type login screen still comes up with my live session.  I've used "live"/"crunchbang" to login, but last time I just used enter/enter iirc

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

I have not seen any password login screens in previous installs ? It could be my memory [human] is faulty, since I also install Ubuntu and Debian on various machines at various time...

Trying the iso file indicated to see if password - or no password...
I'll update in a bit...

EDIT-Update:
No password prompt required for me to boot into the live session using crunchbang-11-20130506-amd64.iso

So, maybe the username/password info is for previous versions - I'm relatively new to the #! distro...

My guess is @wailord100 has a faulty copy of the image --- either the MAC utility screwed up somehow, or the torrent didn't complete...

@wailord100 - did you verify the md5sum after downloading the iso?
and
I seem to remember the dd command working on MacOSx.  Perhaps give the dd command a try rather than the utility you used.

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Try typing "exit" (no quotes) in the slim login box to get to a console. Not sure where you go from there......

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

@retf
With the dd command, my usb key doesn't boot. I don't uderstand why it is asking me for a username and a password it is really weird.
@Joe90
Trying it right now
Edit:
It works i am into the console but it is still asking me for login and password. I have
Crunchbang Linux waldorf localhost.localdomain tty1
localHost login :

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Curious...  I've always just gotten the standard X session by default, not a console...
So --- does
username: crunchbang
password: live

work? as @saneks indicated...

Shouldn't PAM be configured to not ask for a password for the default user?

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

I never get any login screen in live-mode. So it`s got to be your utility that messes it up. A nice way to check it. Burn the ISO to a dvd, and try to boot with that. If that works, then there are nothing wrong with either #! or the ISO. Then it`s a MAC-issue.

Have you tried live/live, or even just blanks?

I was thinking to burn it on a dvd, but i haven't any. I will go buy one tomorrow if i can't manage to get this working.
And yes i have tried, and when i leave blank, it wont let me hit enter.

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

OK, I see now that for some reason the live hostname and user isn`t set with you, as you get localhost instead.

If you are able to edit the boot-options(kernel parameters), then  you could try to add:

live-config live-config.hostname=crunchbang live-config.username=crunchbang

- apt-mark hold account

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

In the boot option i can only choose to activate options or not, I can't add any comand line. When i use a bootX64.efi file I have downloaded with a tutorial, crunchbang doesn't boot, i have grub instead. Preps I could boot from grub with your command line ?
Edit
When I boot with grub manually i fall on initramfs commands
Edit
Okay in fact with Linux mac usb, i boot directly from the live vim and initdr, so it doesn't launch the config file which set the hostname .
I have booted manually from grub to the /install/vim and initdr but during the installation, i got the error message:
can't mount /cdrom
So i have tried this
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1784648
But when I run
mount –t iso9660 –o ro /mnt/usb/crunch.iso /cdrom
i get the error : can't set up loop device: No space left on device

Re: [SOLVED]Cunchbang 11 Live usb password username

Suggest download again, md5sum, burn to DVD, md5sum (yes you can!), and test
