Editorial standards

These standards govern everything we publish. They exist to make CrunchBangLinux worth trusting in a category where trust is scarce.

Authorship

Every article has a named, real, accountable author. No pseudonyms except for security researchers with a documented reason, labelled as such. No account will ever carry a real person’s name for work they did not write.

Sourcing

Primary sources first: kernel mailing lists, release announcements, CVE/NVD records, vendor advisories, repository commits, official project blogs, and regulatory filings. Every news item links its primary source. When another outlet breaks a story, we credit them prominently with a link and add our own independent sourcing.

The pre-publish gate

Nothing publishes until it has: a real named author; the correct section (never “Uncategorized”); primary sources linked; a Tested On block (guides), methodology (research), or hands-on statement (reviews); affiliate disclosure above the body where applicable; a unique meta description; valid schema; and alt text on images. An editor signs off.
